Teaching at UBC (Undergrad & Masters in Music)
UBC has a wonderfully large and diverse music department. Every school year is an exciting undertaking for me as I explore new approaches and ways of helping students reach their potential developing technique and musical expression to the fullest. In addition to the extensive programming provided by the school, I work hard to organize several masterclasses with visiting guest artists and performing opportunities for the students. Ultimately, dates on the calendar and first-hand experience are key in motivating students and facilitating their learning. I pride myself on creating a robust and active studio with plenty of both.

Private/Studio Teaching
I teach in a few areas around Greater Vancouver, either privately or in studio. My students consistently do well on their RCM exams, festivals and competitions. I love teaching students of all ages and skill levels.
I believe that students learn the most when they have a strong foundation and understanding of music. When the students have the right tools to play music, the practice and study of music will become more enjoyable and rewarding. Every person, whether a total beginner or a seasoned pro, will have a certain set of strengths and weaknesses. I recognise this fact, and I love the challenge of tailoring my teaching approach to each student and helping them become well-rounded and capable musicians.
My involvement with the "Vancouver Classic Guitar Society" means that students can expect to participate in many guitar-focused activities in the city. I love volunteering for the guitar society because having a community of musicians is key to developing talent and audiences for the guitar.
